Essays
While an essay is commonly considered to be a short literary composition, like the ones we wrote in high school or college, the word actually originates from Old French and Latin words that mean to attempt, to do, or to investigate.
The secondary definitions in modern dictionaries are "an endeavor or effort" and "to test or try out."
In literature then, an essay is a short creative endeavor through which the author attempts to test or try out a new concept or perspective.
The following are essays that I've attempted; some of them are the foundation for talks, presentations, and programs. More will be posted. Please check back soon.
